නව හන්දි යම් ප්රෙමානයකට මාංශල සිරස් සිනිදු පන්දුරු ලෙස හෝ කුඩා ගසක් ලෙස වැඩේ. මෙහි කුඩා පත්ර කිහිපයක් හැරුනු විට කොල නොපිහිටයි. නව හන්දි මුල් සූරා පොල්තෙල් සමග කලවම් කර උදරයේ පිටතින් වේදනව සමනයට ආලේප කරයි. එසේම ශ්රී ලංකාවේ මෙම ශාකය අස්ති බිදීම් සුව කිරීමට යොදා ගනී.
මෙහි කිරි හා යුශ වේදනා නාශක ලෙසද කෘමි දශ්ට කිරීම් ව්ලටද කන් කැක්කුමට ඔසුවක් ලෙසද යොදා ගනී
එසේම ඉන්නන් ඉවත් කිරීමටද මේ කිරි යොදා ගනී.
