Nava handi belong to euphorbicea family and botanical name is euphorbia tirucalli
This plant english names are milk hedge, milk bush
Milk bush (නව හන්දි / කිරි හන්දි )
Is an somewhat fleshly shurb or small tree, there are no leaves except for a few few small leaves.
Nawa handi root scraping mixed with coconut oil are applied externally to the stomach to relive pain. Milk hedge also use in sri lanka to healing frctured bones.
Nawahandi latex (kiri) used for wound healing.
Milk juce also applied for relive pain, for treatment as insect byte and ear caches and remove warts
Milk hedge latex may cause eye irritation or blindness contact with the eyes.

නව හන්දි යම් ප්‍රෙමානයකට මාංශල සිරස් සිනිදු පන්දුරු ලෙස හෝ කුඩා ගසක් ලෙස වැඩේ. මෙහි කුඩා පත්‍ර කිහිපයක් හැරුනු විට කොල නොපිහිටයි. නව හන්දි මුල් සූරා පොල්තෙල් සමග කලවම් කර උදරයේ පිටතින් වේදනව සමනයට ආලේප කරයි. එසේම ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ මෙම ශාකය අස්ති බිදීම් සුව කිරීමට යොදා ගනී.
මෙහි කිරි හා යුශ වේදනා නාශක ලෙසද කෘමි දශ්ට කිරීම් ව්ලටද කන් කැක්කුමට ඔසුවක් ලෙසද යොදා ගනී
එසේම ඉන්නන් ඉවත් කිරීමටද මේ කිරි යොදා ගනී.
නව හන්දි කිරි ඇස් වලට වැටුනහොත් අපහසුතාවයන් හෝ අන්ද වීම සිදුවිය හැකිය.
